Spanish Check-Up for Your Business

Is your business really bilingual, or just translated? We test five steps a Spanish-speaking customer goes through: your website form, the auto-reply, the voicemail greeting, the confirmation, and the link to change the time. A real person does it, in Spanish.

Definition

What is the Spanish Check-Up?

The Spanish Check-Up is free. We send a real request in Spanish through your website and follow it through five steps. We see which ones reply in Spanish and which quietly switch back to English partway through.

It exists because “we have a Spanish form” and “we handle calls in Spanish” are two different claims. Only one of them usually gets tested before a company makes it.

How we run the check-up

  1. 1

The form. We send a real request in Spanish through your own website form, the way a Spanish-speaking customer would.

  2. 2

The auto-reply. Whatever email or text comes back right away. We check which language it actually arrives in.

  3. 3

The voicemail greeting. We call your listed number, including after hours, and listen.

  4. 4

The confirmation. The message sent after an appointment is booked, if the check gets that far.

  5. 5

The link to change the time. We follow it to see if the page opens in Spanish, English, or was never translated at all.

The gap

Why a Spanish form is not the same as a bilingual business

A Spanish form often sits in front of an English-only auto-reply, voicemail and confirmation. Each of those pieces was built at a different time, often by a different tool. Nothing forces them to match. And nothing shows the mismatch until a real Spanish-speaking customer hits it.

A form is one link in a much longer chain. A company can get the first link right and still lose a Spanish-speaking customer at the second, third or fourth one. And never know it happened, because you cannot see the mismatch from your side.

Why it matters here

Why check the whole chain, not just the form?

Because the form is the one link most companies already fixed. The Spanish stops somewhere further down, and you cannot see where from the inside.

In a market with this much Spanish, you cannot assume the Spanish side works just because the form does. The only way to know is to test the whole chain, the way a real Spanish-speaking customer goes through it.

What the report includes

A pass or fail on language for each of the five steps: form, auto-reply, voicemail, confirmation, and the link to change the time.
The exact step where the Spanish switches back to English, if it does.
A note if any step does not exist at all yet, instead of a guess at what it would say.
A short write-up of what a Spanish-speaking customer actually went through. Not a score out of ten.

What we don’t know yet

We have not checked enough South Florida companies yet to publish a pass rate. We are not going to make one up to fill this space.

When we have that number, we will publish it and say where it came from. Until then, your report only says what we found at your company, not how you compare to anyone else.

How do I request the check-up?

Click below to book a call. It is the same form used for every request on this site. There is no separate check-up form.

Fill in your company name, phone and email as usual. When we connect, say you want the Spanish Check-Up run on your website, your phone line, and any confirmation your company sends. We never run it on a company that did not ask.

Results are put together by hand and usually sent within a few business days. There is no faster option and no promised turnaround.

FAQ

Questions about the Spanish Check-Up

No. A real person sends a Spanish-language request through your form, calls your office, and follows any links a real customer would get.
