AUTOMATIC FOLLOW-UP
Follow-up that stops the moment they answer
A West Miami homeowner books the job on day three. On day eight she gets "just checking whether you had questions about the quote." She already said yes. Now she wonders if you noticed. Follow-up that does not know when to stop costs more than no follow-up at all.
A note on what this is. It is the part of automatic follow-up that gets the least attention and does the most damage when it is wrong.
The four things that stop it
- A reply. Any reply, in either language, even "?" The sequence stops and the reply lands in the inbox for a person.
- A booking. She books from the link; every scheduled message for that quote is cancelled.
- A STOP, ALTO or PARE. Every message stops, and she is marked so no future sequence includes her.
- A person. The office opens the thread and turns it off, because they talked to her on the phone.
STOPPING IS THE FEATURE
The clock
Nothing goes out between 8 PM and 8 AM. Not because it is polite, though it is; because Florida law sets those hours for texts like these. A message scheduled for 8:15 PM waits until 8 AM. A reply she sends at 11 PM is answered by a person in the morning, not by a robot at 11:01.
What the sequence looks like
Four messages over two weeks for a quote. Day one with the quote, day three, day eight, day fourteen. Each one written once, in both languages, approved by you. The Spanish one is not a translation of the English one on the fly; it is its own message, read by a person before it went live.
What happens on a reply
The sequence stops. The reply lands in the inbox with her name and the quote attached. The office answers as a person. If the answer is "call me next month," the office can start a different, slower sequence. Nothing restarts on its own.
The missed-call text and the review request follow the same rules. One system, one clock, one set of stop words.
Questions we get asked about this
What if she replies to the wrong message?
Any reply on the thread stops every sequence for her. It does not matter which message she answered.
Can I restart a sequence after it stopped?
Yes, by hand, from the thread. It never restarts on its own.
Does STOP in Spanish work?
ALTO and PARE stop it the same as STOP. The confirmation goes back in her language.
